Intranet Service Page

Very useful information: http://intranet.scilifelab.se (can only be accessed from internal scilifelab IP).

You can use ssh as a proxy to access the intranet pages.

$ ssh -D 8080 -Nf username@computername.scilifelab.se

Just configure your browser with the Socks5 proxy settings 127.0.0.1:8080

If you use firefox or opera you can configure the settings only for that browser. Safari and chrome makes a system wise change.

Room Booking

To book any of the available meeting rooms at Scilifelab, use the intranet site. Use the same login as for the homer file server!

Google Accounts and Email

You can change the password only for the Google related accounts from Gmail, etc.

For the other scilifelab services like Room Booking, Homer fileserver you need the initial password that was handed in to you. If you lost that password, contact the administrator.

SciLifeLab Wiki

There is a scilifelab wiki server: http://wiki.scilifelab.se. You will need an account to access it. Get it by mailing Per Kraulis: per.kraulis@scilifelab.se.

Wi-fi

Eduroam is available but sometimes shaky.

Either SU or KTH should have information about how to set up your Eduroam configuration.

Printers and Scanners

Printers

  • RicohF6: ricohf6.scilifelab.se. This printer is serviced by the SciLifeLab IT staff. It has a stapler module. In Mac OS, it’s under the ‘printer features’ tab, under ‘Feature sets: general 3’. You can also use it with wireless. If you have problems you might be helped by changing from “Internet Printing Protocol” to “Jetdirect” interface when setting up the printer.

Scanners

RicohF6 works double as a scanner.

By default it scans documents to the folder “transfer/Scanned\ Images/Floor6” on the SciLifeLab intranet file server homer (http://intranet.scilifelab.se/it/fileserver/).

To send scanned documents to an email adress, a recipient and a sender need to be specified. To register, press the “Prg. Dest.” button, fill in your name and email, then under the tab “Protection” mark both Destination and Sender. To scan and send documents, choose your name in the adress book both in the “to: “ field and by pressing the “Sender” button on the bottom.

The scanner can also save to a USB memory stick.

Mailing Room

The mailing room is in Gamma 2. It provides envelopes and postage. To send a letter, take a sticky note with a bar code and use that as postage.

Paper Cutter

A paper cutter is available outside of the SciLifeLab administration, in Gamma 5.
